The Retrotec Model 3000 series of airtightness testing fans sets will test buildings with up to 2880m² of envelope area at the maximum allowable amount of 10m³/hr per m². If the building is more typical and has been constructed tighter than this then this same model could test buildings of 10,000m² or more.
Please note that none of BSRIA Instrument Solutions rental stock of Air tightness Testing equipment carry a UKAS accredited calibration and therefore should only be used for diagnostic purposes only. An optional UKAS accredited calibration service is available at an additional charge.
Not suitable for use on generators.
In the UK, air leakage tests must be carried out in accordance with CIBSE TM23 on all buildings over 1000m² of gross floor area where construction began after April 2002. The TM23 standard requires maximum allowable leakage of 10m³/hr at 50 Pascal per m² of envelope area.
Each Air tightness testing Fan is driven by a variable frequency 3-phase controller that will accept a single-phase voltage input. The controller can be powered by a user selectable voltage of between 97 to 135 volts OR 195 to 270 volts. Note:- each fan used can draw up to 22amps (on 110V supply) or 14 amps (240V supply) therefore a suitable electrical supply must be available).
Each 1.5 HP, 3-phase motor has rock steady speed regulation and is Capable of producing up to 4.1 m³/s (8687 cfm) in free air, 3.8 m³/s (8052cfm) at a static pressure of 50 Pa or 1.8 m³/s (3814 cfm) at 300 Pa.
By using two 3 fan sets (6 fans in total) the size of building that can be tested can be doubled. Similarly the Retrotec software will enable the use of up to 18 fans yielding a massive 48m³/sec at 50 Pascal's.
The Retrotec 3000 series of fans is therefore ideal for tests where high accuracy, large air flows and/or high pressures are required.
