BSRIA Instrument Solutions extends its UKAS calibration accreditation scope |  | Air Velocity, Humidity, Dew Point, Rotational Speed and Air Volume have all been added to the laboratories ISO17025 scope of work, making it a true on-stop shop for all you instrumentation needs. |  | The last 24 months have seen a significant investment in facilities at the laboratory based in Bracknell, Berkshire, to ensure that the calibrations it conducts meet the demands of today’s industry. For example in the pharmaceutical sector the measurement of humidity with a low level of uncertainty is critical in applications such as the application of pill coatings. BSRIA instrument solutions now has one of the finest facilities in the UK for this with best measurement capabilities as low as 0.3% for humidity. Likewise, the measurement of airflow in the electronics manufacturing sector can be critical where the cost to damaged components can cost thousands of pounds to rectify if the wrong airflow rate has been applied. Typically low speed air velocity calibrations with best measurement capability of 0.54% IND + 0.025m/s are offered which is more than adequate for most applications.

Air velocity ~ 0.3 to 30.0 m/s
Humidity ~ 10 to 95%rh over the range 0 to 70°C
Dewpoint ~ -26 to +69°C
Volume Flow (Balometers) – 20 to 760 l/s (supply and extract)
Rotational speed – 6 to 100 000 rpm
